In Our Own Write

Every yeafsj2016novembercoverimgr I eagerly await the November issue of The Foreign Service Journal, which features books written by American diplomats – and this time I’m honored to be among them!

My novel A Simple Game appears as one of the fiction selections showcased in this year’s edition, titled as always “In Their Own Write.”  The annual roundup of books by Foreign Service members and their families also features six works of history and biography, eight memoirs, and three books for young readers, plus offerings on policy, travel, photography, business, and much more.

Managing Editor Susan B. Maitra opens this year’s issue by explaining how “our primary purpose in presenting ‘In Their Own Write’ annually is to celebrate the wealth of literary talent within the Foreign Service community, and to give our readers the opportunity to support colleagues by sampling their wares.”

FSJ makes it easy to do by placing the books featured in this edition, plus volumes from previous years, in its online bookstore at www.afsa.org/bookstore.  Check it out, as there’s something here for everyone and just in time for your holiday shopping!
